The Easy Route
that isn't exactly so easy.

Our world is extremely complicated. It’s full of mysteries, wonder, and all sorts of facts that are both logical and illogical.
Whenever I was younger, I was naive to think that the world was based off of pure logic and logic alone. In my young and feeble mind, I just assumed that if something wasn’t true, or if it couldn’t disguise itself as being true, it would cease to exist after a while. After all, the world is a place full of different facts that are all cohesive and make life as we know it continue, right?
Turns out, the world is full of fallacies. Around every bend in the road of life, there is seemingly another ‘fact’ that doesn’t seem to add up.
Of all of these strange fallacies that are always floating around our world, the strangest of all is this:
People gravitate to what is easy.
At first, you probably read that and thought, “Of course people do that!” But, I want you to think about something for just a moment.
Think about every decision you make on a daily basis. Out of that batch of thousands of decisions, how many do you think would lead to you to the something easy?
Most of us make life excruciatingly hard for ourselves. We tightly bind ourselves with the shackles of expectations and disappointments. Instead of taking the truly ‘easy’ route, we will try to forge our own path—up until there is no path left. Instead of accepting the truth and acting out what is going to make our lives easy, we accept lies disguised as truths and follow paths that are solely easy to traverse in the moment.
The easiest path is easily hidden. It looks impossible to walk down before you take your very first step. Yet once you begin to walk down that heralded path, your life will never be the same.
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:105 NLT
